Release of a Remastered Version of the Movie on DVD??

This is my first post here…

The Black Stallion (1979) is one of my all time favorite movies! I can’t begin to count how many time I have watched it. But each time I do, I have a nagging feeling that the print used to make the DVD had experienced some fading of the colors due to age. I read on Wikipedia that the movie was selected in 2002 by the Library of Congress to be preserved. Has anyone read or heard of the possibility that there may be a re-mastered version of the film seeing a re-release on DVD?? The photography of this film is just unbelievable and I would love to see it in all its original glory as I did at its release in 1979.

You can help! We need to have as many people write to MGM as possible and see if we can get them to re master an “enhanced” Blu-Ray DVD.
They did it with the “Godfathers” and the “Outsiders” why not “Black Stallion”?
The costs have come down a lot in the last few years on this process … maybe they just need a little push.
