1. How many books did Walter Farley write in his lifetime? How many were made into movies?
(Answer) I believe that the actual number written is 28. However, there are, also, 4 adaptations and a few comic book adaptations.
Three were made into movies.  The Black Stallion, The Black Stallion Returns and Young Black Stallion.

2. When was the first time Alec had to use his pocket knife? What were the handles made
of?
(Answer)To cut the rope from around his(Alec’s) waist, as The Black came up onto the shore, of the island, so that he(Alec) would not be dragged to death over the sand.  The Handles were made of pearl.

3. What is the name of the port where the Drake loaded the Black Stallion?
(Answer) I can not find a name but judging by the description in The Young Black Stallion book, I am gong to guess Jizan because that is a real Arabian port on the Red Sea closest to the Ar Rub Al Khali, which they were traveling back toward when Cat had to suddenly change his plans because the truck would not run after the locust storm.

4. What was the name of the Race Track where Alec had his night ride? Does this track really exist?
(Answer) Belmont.  Yes, it really exists.

5. Who was Neville’s Folly?
(Answer)  The Black.  Mr. Volence, the owner of Sun Raider said that Sun Raider would beat both Cyclone and Neville’s Folly, thus killing two birds with one stone, when he agreed that The Black could run in the match race.
