NEW Bucephalus figurine!

Recently we have been focused on creating a new aged bronze of Bucephalus and this is the result of months of reworking the finish to make it as close as possible to the “treasure of the desert”. The aged patina of this new figure will still darken further, as all bronzes do, but this version adds a “jump” on the process.  It’s not quite black but the rich bronze color of the original.
Hope you like it!

BUCK

Saw an interesting film lately. It was just released nationally but already has won Sundance and some other awards.
“Buck” is an interesting film for horse and non-horse people. It’s about training and that means YOU as well as troublesome stallions. Buck is the real life person they based the character on in “Horse Whisperer”. At the screening I went to the film maker was there and she had some fascinating stories about making the movie. If you get a chance – really – check it out.
Take your date, your Mom, or the kids, everyone can get something out of this film.
Save me a seat, I’ll go again!
This is where the movie is showing.

This is the brief synopsis;
Your horse is a mirror to your soul, and sometimes you may not like what you see. Sometimes, you will.” So says Buck Brannaman, a true American cowboy and sage on horseback who travels the country for nine grueling months a year helping horses with people problems.
BUCK, a richly textured and visually stunning film, follows Brannaman from his abusive childhood to his phenomenally successful approach to horses. A real-life “horse-whisperer”, he eschews the violence of his upbringing and teaches people to communicate with their horses through leadership and sensitivity, not punishment.
Buck possesses near magical abilities as he dramatically transforms horses – and people – with his understanding, compassion and respect. In this film, the animal-human relationship becomes a metaphor for facing the daily challenges of life. A truly American story about an unsung hero, BUCK is about an ordinary man who has made an extraordinary life despite tremendous odds.

Have a GREAT weekend, it’s summertime, gotta luv that!
See you at the show,

Buford “Corky” Randall, a horse trainer in Hollywood for a half-century, died April 20 in Newhall, Calif., after a prolonged illness with cancer. He was 80.

Randall’s career included feature films “The Alamo” (1960), “The Misfits” (1961), “How the West Was Won” (1962), “Soldier Blue” (1970), “Hot to Trot” (1988), “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” (1989), “Buffalo Girls” (1995) and “The Mask of Zorro” (1998) and the 1950s TV shows “Spin & Marty” and “Zorro.”

However, it was the film adaptation of Walter Farley’s novel “The Black Stallion” that established Randall as a a trainer in his own right. Released in 1979, the Carroll Ballard-directed production (executive produced by Francis Ford Coppola) contained some of the most challenging horse scenes ever filmed. Read more
