I was in grade school when I first read "The Black Stallion." My mother was a teacher, and her best friend was the school librarian, who had trouble keeping me still in the library. She knew I was horse-crazy, so she led me to find that book. I was in heaven! I'd finally found a story of a young boy whose greatest friend was a horse, just like me. I checked that book out so many times, that finally my mother and her friend bought the entire set of books, and gave them to me for Christmas. I still have them, and read them, from time to time. My thanks to your father for a wonderful series of stories.

Thanks Tim for posting our lil filly's photo-she's a cutie! We are still searching for a name...I'd like to incorporate "South Wind" somewhere in the name. Hours before the birth--there was a very strange strong south wind that hit our farm...it brought us a special gift! ; )

Looking forward to hearing some name ideas!

Dear Tim Farley,
I know what you mean, The U.S. Supreme Court recently decided a case concerning the rights of oceanfront property owners in Florida. The U.S. Supreme Court held that actions taken by the state of Florida pursuant to Florida's Beach and Shore Preservation Act (F.S. 161.141) did not constitute a taking of property rights. But what the bill talks about is the state restoring beach front property but then taking ownership of the ground.
BTW great blogpost
