We finally got around bringing the blog into the new design theme for the rest of the site. As you will notice it perfectly integrates now with all the other pages and it makes for a much more pleasing browsing experience. Stay tuned for more news and updates as Tim shares stories and photos about The Black Stallion, The BSLP and new books!
Have fun!
Hi! I grew up with The Black Stallion books, reading the entire series several times over and they are a fond part of my childhood. I am wondering if you can answer a question for me – why isn’t the original cover art used on the books?
Also, I am close to the Yellow House, PA area and I was under the assumption that you and your family lived there. Am I correct in that?
Thanks for this wonderful website!
Yes, Dad wrote a lot of books near Yellow House and it’s great for dinner!
the cover art has changed a lot over the years. you can see a bunch of the covers on the home page and those are just form the first book.
thanks for writing.

My mom read Black Stallion to me when I was 6 years old. The very next day, I walked about six blocks and stole a horse. I just had to have one and as I was walking the horse back home (on a very busy St. in Palo Alto, Ca) the owners drove by and took the horse back. My father told me how they used to hang people for stealing horses, yikes! I still wish I got the horse into my back yard which was only another 2 blocks away! I can’t wait to share the books with my little ones, I’ll be sure to track them the day after finishing the book.
That’s one funny story – outlaw! Think the owners might have let you come over and helped with the chores – as punishment :)
